The Power of Designlines

Designlines is the term that I use for Guidelines in my Haircutting Course at: VelascoHaircuttingSystem.com

So the first thought that might pop into your mind when you hear that is “What’s the big deal about Designlines, I learned how to cut Guidelines when I was in Beauty School“ ?…and here’s the difference…

 …When we were in Cosmetology School, we learned that to do a good haircut we needed to cut our Guideline in first and then follow our guidelines….And that onto itself has not changed, but the difference is that we were never taught how to cut in “Creative Guidelines“ and then use a very simple method of executing the rest of the haircut to make those Creative Guidelines come alive in the Designing Process of the Haircut.

I have built an entire career on teaching people how to “Creatively Cut in their Designlines“ in order to design ANY hairstyle they will ever want to cut for their entire careers.

In other words, I can teach you how to use the Power of Designlines to cut ANY hairstyle that you can ever imagine without ever having to watch another haircutting YouTube video or take another Haircutting Class again.

Now, you may be wondering how I can feel so confident in telling you that I can teach you a haircutting system today, that you will be able to use for your entire career… So let me explain... 

My Haircutting System is built on the fact that there are only “3-Ways” that hair can be cut.

~ One Length

~ Graduated

~ Layered

That’s it….… Period!

There is NO Other Way to Cut Hair in Existence!

Every hairstyle that has ever been created in the entire world since the existence of humans on earth falls into one of these 3-Categories, OR, is a combination of 2 or all 3 of these categories…

Yes, there are many different styles or looks within each of these 3-categories. But, by-and-large, once you know how to cut each one of the these 3-categories, you will be able to cut Every Variation of each style that you will ever encounter throughout your entire career with No Problem!…

I know this sounds overly simplistic, but the fact of the matter is that cutting hair is very simple...Hairdressers over the years have tried to over complicate this skill and it doesn’t have to be that way…

Believe me, I have spent the last 50-Years developing and refining this Haircutting System to make it as simple and easy as possible to learn. And at this point I have it down to an exact science that you will be able to benefit from for the rest of your career…

You see what I teach in my haircutting course is how to “Alter” these Designlines (or Guidelines) to enable you to create any haircut you will ever want to create.

For example, think about Layered Haircuts for a minute. Under the category of Layered Haircuts comes to mind the famous Shag Haircut, the Sauvage Haircut, a Layered Bob, and a Pixie Haircut… And of course, we all know that they are many variations of all these haircuts. So, you can go to YouTube and watch hundreds of videos on how to cut all of these haircuts using completely different methods and techniques.

But my point is that at its core ALL of these haircuts are still only “Layered Haircuts“ and if you know how to “Alter“ the Designlines like I teach in my haircutting course, combined with my Haircutting System to execute the rest of the haircut, you’ll be able to cut ANY Layered Haircut you will ever want to cut… for your entire career…And this same concept holds true for Graduated Haircut and One Length Haircuts as well.

You see the Real Magic happens when you learn how to cut your Designlines (or guidelines) in a special way to be able to enable your creativity to show through in your haircuts.
