Why I Created This Course?

I created this course because every year thousands of young hairdressers are coming out of beauty school without knowing how to cut hair, just like my daughter did.

And in many situations, they go to work in a salon that promises to train them, but never really does. So, these young hairdressers become Salon Slaves for several years and then they eventually become frustrated and quit the industry altogether, thinking that all salons must be the same.

Or in some areas, hairdressers are forced to go into a Chair Rental or Salon Suite situation without the necessary skills to build a clientele and are now expected to Pay Rent from the first day.

Who is this Course for?

~ It’s for the Cosmetology Student or Recent Graduate at any level, but especially for those who are about to graduate and realize that they still don’t feel confident in their haircutting skills... By the way, there is a discount for qualified students.

~ It’s for the Hairdresser Mom, who took off work for several years to raise her kids and is now ready to get back behind the chair, but feels the need for a quick refresher course on haircutting.

~ It’s for the Experienced Haircolorist who has focused their entire career on haircolor but now wants to start building a “haircutting clientele” to increase their income potential.

~ It’s for Barber’s who have decided to expand their clienteles to include working on females, but lack the training on all of the different hairstyles that women desire.

~ And of course, it’s for Hairdressers at Any Level who never really obtained a full grasp on how to do great haircuts with ease and thus still feel a little confused or lacking the confidence they need to take their haircutting skills to the next level.

~ And it’s for Salon Owners or Cosmetology School Owners looking for a new and innovative way to teach your junior staff members or cosmetology students... (School Owners: Please contact me for group licensing information).

Who is this course NOT for?

~ This course is NOT for Experienced Haircutters... If you have already taken several haircutting courses and feel totally confident that you could cut any kind of haircut request that a client might ask of you, you don’t need this course.

~ Non-Serious People... This course is a complete Masterclass in the Art of Haircutting. It’s a No-Nonsense approach to mastering this wonderful and creative art form...

In These Videos There is: No Fluff, No Hype, No Crazy Outlandish Hairstyles, No Gimmicky Haircutting Tricks, No Click-Bait Links, No Up-Sells, No Ongoing Membership Fees, No Monthly Patreon Fees, No Product Pushing, No Sales Pitches for Shears etc.

You don’t have to use the same kind of shears or razor that I’m using to make any of these haircut’s work... It’s Just pure, serious, One-On-One Education....

What is Muscle Memory?

The concept of muscle memory is very well known amongst musicians. The idea is that you need to practice something over and over again (repetition of motion) until your fingers go to exactly the right spot that you need them to be in every time you want to achieve a certain result... Automatically...

.....For musicians that’s obviously playing the right notes at the right time with the music. But for Haircutters it’s about knowing how much Tension to apply to the hair before you cut it, the proper Holding Angles, Scissor and Comb Dexterity, and many other little things that all have to come together to build your speed and accuracy....automatically...

I once saw an interview on TV with Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones talking about the infamous four-hour long concerts that the Rolling Stones used to do. And the interviewer asks Keith: “How do you remember how to play all those songs? “And Keith replied: “I don’t remember how to play any of them. I just practice them so much that my fingers automatically play them when they need to “.... And this is where we want to get your haircutting skills too...

Do the videos have Background Music?

No, I intentionally decided not to put any background music in any of the videos in this course. I did this for several reasons.

~ There are over 400 videos in this course. If I would have used one particular tune of background music for all the videos, you would be ready to pull your hair out, or worse yet, pull my hair out by the time you got to the 31st video.

~ If I would have tried to get different types of background music, it's very unlikely that I could have pleased everyone who takes this course given the divers ages and backgrounds of all of the participants.

~ But the main reason I didn't put any background music is because I am constantly giving instruction on every step of every haircut that I'm working on. And I think it's more important for you to hear what I'm saying than hearing music.

~ The only times that there is long periods of silence, is while I am blowdrying the haircuts. And I figured that in those situations you can just put on your own playlist in the background and enjoy whatever background music you want.

Do you teach any Special Finishing Techniques in this program?

Nothing exotic. In all 56 Haircuts I show the complete blow-dry which I did with vent & round brushes, but I intentionally did not want to alter the hair in any way with irons or too many styling products….In the Final Recap Videos of each haircut I want the participants of this course to see every detail of the haircut itself without the hair being manipulated or altered in anyway.

As I said many times in this course, I prefer to cut the shape into the haircut, as opposed to having to rely on a lot of styling products or tools and appliances to make the hair look good. And the best way to show this is to keep the finished style as simple as possible.

Why didn't you Name the Haircuts that you teach in the course instead of just giving them a number?

Throughout this program, I refer to each haircut as the Category & Number of the haircut only. For example: Graduated Haircut #5, Layered Haircut #10 etc.. I intentionally did not give any of these 56 Haircuts Names per’se, I did this for two reasons.

I- As soon as you give a haircut a name you dated it. For example, if I say the word Shag you think 1970s. If I say the Sauvage you think 1990s and if I say Wolfcut you think 2020s. If I say Pixi you think 1960s… The fact of the matter is that ALL of these haircuts and ALL of their variations simply fall into the category of Layered Haircuts.

The only difference is the way that the weight and the lengths are distributed throughout the haircut. So, once you learn how to do Layered Haircuts like I teach in this course, you will be able to cut all these haircuts and any future layered hairstyles that may come out at a later date with no problem…. And this same example holds true for One Length Haircuts and Graduated Haircuts alike.

2- The other reason I didn’t give any of these haircut’s names, is because every hairdresser has a different image in mind when they think of the name of a haircut.

Again, if I say Shag Haircut, some people will think Short Shag some people will think Long Shag, Medium Shag, Curly Shag, Gypsy Shag. If I say Bob Haircut, you might think Straight Bobs, A-Line Bobs, Graduated Bobs, Layered Bobs, etc.

There's no right or wrong answers here, it's just that everyone has a different interpretation of what these names mean and how these styles should look. So to eliminate any confusion, I decided to simply labeled each haircut with a the Category & Number were they appear in the program.

How long do I have access to the course for? Is it to keep for life or is it only for a limited time?

There is NO time limit on your purchase of this course. You’ll have lifetime access to the program… If something were to happen to me, my daughter (who is a hairdresser and my partner in this course) will maintain the website.… And if, for some reason we ever decided to shut-down this website, we would make sure that everyone who has purchased the course would have access to downloading all of the files.
