How Many Mannequin Heads & What Haircuts will I Learn?

Recently, I have had quite a few people emailing me asking how many mannequin heads will they need to complete my Haircutting Course and what specific haircuts will they learn in the course… in this post, I will answer that question.

First off, I just want to say that the Haircutting Course is a very large program where you will learn how to cut 56 Haircuts “Step-By-Step” and ultimately you will be learning how to use my Haircutting System to create any haircut you will ever want to create…

…It’s a Structured System whereby each haircutting lesson will build upon the previous one so the best way to experience the course is in the order that I recommend.

You will need a total of 6 mannequin heads to complete the course, one for each module….(4 with Straight Hair, 1 with Medium Curly Hair, 1 with Coily-Textured Hair).

However, you do not need to purchase all 6 mannequin heads at once. You could simply buy one head at a time as you proceed through the program.

I personally do not sell mannequin heads. However, I do offer a link in the course to discounted mannequin heads that are offered by the Burmax Company, but they must be purchased in groups of 3. These are very high-quality mannequin heads and the exact same ones that I used for creating this program. However, this discount will end at the end of this year (2025).

You could also purchase mannequin heads from whomever you choose. The most popular types of mannequin heads are sold by: Product Club, Pivot Point International, Minerva, on Amazon or of course you could purchase mannequin heads at any beauty supply store.

Here's how you will use these mannequin heads…

Module 1 – ONE LENGTH HAIRCUTS

In Module 1, you will learn every type of “One Length Haircuts” that you would ever need to cut while behind the chair. We will start off with a simple straight, One Length Bob Haircut and then quickly began to start elevating the back of the haircuts to create a series of A-line Bobs with Graduated nape-lines. In this module, you will learn how to cut 13 different One Length Haircuts Designs…with and without Bangs.

Module 2 – GRADUATED HAIRCUTS

Module 2 is all about “Graduated Haircuts”. You will learn every Graduated Haircut possible, from the longest type of Graduation, which strongly resembles a layered haircut, all the way to the shortest possible Graduated Haircut we can do on the mannequin heads and everything in between. You will learn how to cut 12 different Graduated Designs in this module.

Module 3 – LAYERED HAIRCUTS

In module 3 you will learn how to cut 12 different “Layered Haircut Designs”….Once again, we will start with the longest possible form of Layered Haircuts and then proceed to Medium Layered Haircuts and then onto Short Layered Haircuts… Note: I do not like to “name” haircuts per’se, but just be aware that you will learn every “Trendy Layered Haircut” Design possible in this module.

NOTE: These first 3 Modules are all done on mannequin heads with “Straight Hair” so that you can see every Designline and Parting Section that I use in the videos as clearly as possible…Once you have completed these first 3 Modules, you would have completed all of the fundamental lessons to understanding how my Haircutting System works…

….But, I have also included 3 Additional Modules that will take you through a series of haircuts on using my Haircutting System on Curly Hair, on Coily-Textured Hair and when doing Haircuts with a Razor, mainly to teach you the versatility of my Haircutting System.

Module 4 – CURLY HAIRCUTS

In Module 4 we will do a series of 6 different haircuts using the Medium Curly mannequin head. We will start off with a series of Graduated Haircuts and then as the hair gets shorter, we will switch to a few Layered Haircuts. Also, in this module I will demonstrate how to Blow-dry & Style Curly Hair using just a diffuser and my fingers instead of brushes and irons.

Module 5 – COILY-TEXTURED HAIRCUTS

In Module 5 we will use the Coily-Textured mannequin head to do a series of 3 Graduated & 3 Layered Haircut Designs. The main emphasis here is on how to use my Haircutting System with different textures of hair and allowing for the “Double Shrinkage Factor”.… Just to emphasize; the Haircutting System that you had previously learned in Modules 1, 2 & 3 does not change. However, due to the nature of this Tight, Curly Textured Hair, we must make allowances for the hair shrinking up quite a bit once weight has been released from the ends of the hair… and I’ll teach you how to do that in this module.

Module 6 – RAZOR HAIRCUTS

There are 7 Razor Haircuts in this module. You will use one of the mannequin heads with Straight Hair and we will do a series of One Length, Graduated and Layered Haircuts in this module…

Up until this point all of the haircuts that you have learned in my Haircutting Course have been done using the Shears. So, in this module you will learn how to use my Haircutting System when you prefer to use a Razor instead of Shears. Once again, I just want to emphasize that the Haircutting System itself does not change, but since you are using a different tool to execute the haircut, there are some minor alterations that you want to make in order to properly use the system… and you will learn that in this module.
