42 Year Old Barber Student Praises Velasco Haircutting System

A few days ago, I received this email from a man named Josh F….Josh is one of the Students presently going through my Haircutting Course at VelascoHaircuttingSystem.com

Josh wanted to reach out to me to let me know how much he’s enjoying my Haircutting Program and how glad he is that he stumbled upon it when he did.

But the main reason I wanted to share his email with you is because I believe there are many of you reading this who are in the same situation as Josh and unsure as to what to do next to ensure you have a Successful Career as a Hairdresser or Barber. So hopefully Josh’s email will give you some valid information to help you make a wise decision about your future.

I urge you to first read Josh’s email for yourself and then come back and finish reading this Post because I want to unpack some of the things that he said which will resonate with many of you.

At the age of 42 Josh decided to embark on a second career as a Barber after having spent 15 Years as a successful auto technician. This means that Josh is an adult with adult responsibilities and doesn’t have 5 or 10 years to waste to try to figure-out how to Cut Hair by Trial & Error, he truly wants to be job-ready as soon as he graduates from Barbering School.

Josh went to Barbering School expecting to learn “How to Cut Hair” just like my Daughter went to Cosmetology School expecting to learn how to cut hair and just like Thousands of other people do every year…The problem is that these Students all graduate from these schools disappointed that they really didn’t learn the skills they need to make them job-ready right out of school.

The harsh reality is that it’s your responsibility once you leave Barbering or Cosmetology School to seek out your own Education in whatever areas you wish to become proficient in, because these schools are NOT designed to teach it to you.

If you’re presently attending Barbering or Cosmetology School, please know that these schools are designed to teach you everything you need to know to Pass the State Board Exam…They teach you about the Bones in the Scalp, they teach you about the Sanitation Laws in your State, they Introduce you to the topics that you need to know about in the Hair Industry… But in most of these Schools, They DON’T Actually Teach You How to Perform the 2 Most Important Skills You Will Need To Master as a Hairdresser or a Barber…HOW TO CUT AND COLOR HAIR!

Josh also mentions in his email that at his Barbering School there are “instructors“ but No True Teachers or Mentors… Those of you who have been following me for a while know my feeling about how important it is to find Good Mentors in your Career and in your Life…So even though I can’t be with Josh physically, at least through my Online Haircutting Course I could Mentor him (and many others) virtually by offering this Very Detailed, Step-by-Step Haircutting Program that will build his Confidence in Haircutting and give him a Head-Start as soon as he graduates from Barbering School.

Josh also says that he’s been watching my “Haircoloring Videos” on YouTube and learning some lessons there as well, so in my I reply to Josh, I let him know that I am presently working on a New Haircolor Education Program that should be out later this year… I’ll be posting more about this in a few months.
